Auditions

 

 

We have dates for our new auditions! The dates are Saturday, April 17th and Sunday, April 18th. BOTH days are MANDATORY. Saturday will be the workshop to learn the audition routine, and Sunday will be the actual audition. Each dancer must attend both of the sessions.  If this does not work for you, please email us, and we will figure out an alternative plan (for example, a video audition). Auditions will be held at the DanceFX, Inc. It is located at 1260 S. Milledge Ave. C1. Athens, GA 30605.

Schedule:

Saturday Audition Workshop:

 

Workshops will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Potentials might not necessarily have to stay until 1 pm, but it all depends on how long it takes to learn the routine. Please bring snacks and a water bottle.

 

Please do not be late because we will do a group warm-up before learning the audition routine.

 

Potentials will learn a 30 seconds - 1 minute routine consisting of jazz, hip-hop, and technique.

 

Dance Attire-Please wear a fitted top and jazz shoes/dance paws to practice on Saturday

 

Note- Feel free to bring a sack lunch or snack with a drink to the auditions. If you would like a copy of the music to practice, please bring a blank CD. Try out times for Sunday’s audition will be drawn after Saturday’s practice is finished.

 

Sunday Auditions:

 

Auditions will be held in Ramsey Sunday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please arrive on-time so that the auditions can run smoothly.

 

Interview-The judges will ask potentials a question from the registration form

 

Audition Routines-Potentials will perform the one minute routine that was learned on  Saturday morning in groups of 2

 

30 second choreographed routine-Potentials will perform a self choreographed routine

 

Skills Series-triple pirouettes (left and right), fouttes, fouettes in 2nd, straight leaps (left and right), toe touch, axle, switch leap (left and right)

 

Dance Attire-Please wear a fitted top and either jazz pants or hot pants with tights underneath. Performance makeup and hair out of the face.

 

Lieutenant Auditions:

Please, fill out the form and submit on the first day of auditions if you would like to audition to be a Lieutenant. This position is only open to returning members. Please, read the code of conduct for Lieutenant duties. You will be evaluated as a Lieutenant by the judges on the second day of auditions. The judges will ask you an additional interview question from your Lieutenant Audition Form, and your total audition score must rank in the top 25% of the new team. The number of Lieutenants selected will be determined by the size of the new team.

Results:

Results will be posted online, approx. one hour after the final audition. You will be contacted by the team captain for further information regarding upcoming practices, etc.
